Panama: the Robust Plain Weave Fabric for Decoration

Panama is a flat woven fabric derived from the plain weave, in which two or more warp threads interlace simultaneously with two or more weft threads (2×2 weave or higher). This construction produces a fabric with a characteristic basketweave texture, thicker and with more body than simple plain weave.

Thanks to its balanced structure and excellent resistance, panama is one of the most widely used fabrics in upholstery, curtains and decorative accessories. Its regular surface makes it particularly suitable for dyeing and printing, allowing high-quality uniform finishes.
