Etamine is a woven fabric with an open plain weave, characterised by its low thread density which gives it a semi-transparent appearance and a light drape. It is made with loosely twisted yarns, producing a slightly grainy texture and a natural look that is highly valued in sheers and curtains.

Thanks to its open structure, etamine allows filtered light to pass through, creating bright and welcoming atmospheres. It is a fabric that adapts to both residential projects and hotel, restaurant and hospitality interiors where an ethereal aesthetic is sought without sacrificing visual privacy.

In the contract sector, etamine is primarily used as a sheer or lightweight curtain in hotel rooms, lounges and communal areas. Its controlled transparency makes it the ideal complement to heavier curtains or blinds, creating fabric layers that regulate light and add visual depth to the interior design.

Contract fabrics for hotel interiors require textiles that combine aesthetics with durability. Etamine, when manufactured in polyester or PES/CO blends, offers the resistance needed to withstand frequent industrial washes whilst maintaining its appearance over time. Where fire-retardant properties are required, etamine can be treated with FR finishes to meet M1, B1 or Class 1 certifications.
