A smooth-surfaced cotton fabric characterised by its glossy finish, achieved by applying an extremely fine layer of wax or starch that seals and polishes the fabric.

It has a satiny, decorative appearance, often featuring floral prints or ornamental motifs, which enhance its sheen and lend it an elegant character.

A strong and durable fabric, suitable for making curtains, upholstery and table linen, particularly where durability needs to be combined with an attractive finish.
